Q: I am addressing sophisticated investors only. Isn't it enough to let our data speak for themselves?

A: I fear it's not. Data per se only speak to themselves, or to a handful of highly specialized experts. Besides, people don't invest in data, they invest in a company. What makes your company a great investment opportunity is spelled out in your business plan: There is a compelling strategy, deep understanding of the market, a seasoned management team, good science (granted, including data), and progress made. An effective communications program translates this body of information into releases, presentations, etc. that actually reach the investment community.
